STEPHEN PEARCY, frontman for RATT, has a solo album, View to a Thrill, coming out on November 9.

Another DAVID BOWIE box set is on the way, focusing on the 80’s. Loving the Alien will be out on October 21, and will feature previously unreleased tracks. And, interestingly, the only known recording of DAVID BOWIE’s first demo . . . recorded when he was 16 . . . was recently found in an old bread box.

JERRY CANTRELL of ALICE IN CHAINS is part of a graphic novel called “Dark Nights: Metal: Deluxe Edition”. No , he’s not a character in it, he contributed a tune to coincide with its release. Here’s “Setting Sun”.

The folks behind the TOM PETTY box set, An American Treasure, are giving fans a chance to be in a video for the next release. From the TOM PETTY website: “We invite you to share your favorite moment with Tom and the band. The FOO FIGHTERS had another great guest at a recent show. JOE WALSH joined the band on stage at Fenway Park for “Rocky Mountain Way”.

 

DEEP PURPLE’s IAN GILLAN has a new, old project on the way. Ian Gillan and the Javelins is set for release on August 31, and it’s got an interesting story – it was recorded with his bandmates from 54 years ago! Check out a sample of what you can expect.
