During a recent show in Iceland, ROBERT PLANT sang LED ZEPPELIN‘s “The Immigrant Song” for the first time since 1996. The song was actually inspired by Zeppelin’s first tour of Iceland in 1970. Granted, he shaved a few verses off, and didn’t even attempt the screams, but still, it’s Robert Plant belting out Zeppelin the way it was meant to be played. And how often do you see that anymore? 

BILLY GIBBONS of ZZ TOP has been working on a new solo album, and tentatively plans to call it Hardware as a tribute to long time producer/engineer Joe Hardy, who passed away earlier this year. 

JOHN MELLENCAMP‘s  “Jack & Diane,” is being turned into a musical, with MELLENCAMP writing the music and lyrics. More info is expected this fall.

Remember My Name, a DAVID CROSBY documentary, will arrive in theaters on July 19. 

Woodstock 50 is only about seven weeks away, but tickets are still not on sale, and the venue where it is supposedly moving to, Vernon Downs in upstate New York,  has little to no information to share. Read more here.

The earliest-known live recording of U2 has been unearthed. The show took place on August 11th, 1979 in Dublin, before the band had recorded any music.  Clips of two songs have been released:  “In Your Hand” and “Concentration Cramp”.
