October 20 would have been TOM PETTY‘s 70th birthday, and his estate has announced a celebration happening this Friday, October 23. The festivities will include a concert livestream at 7pm on Amazon Music’s Twitch Channel and also on the Tom Petty website. Performers include members of the HEARTBREAKERS, ADAM SANDLER, FOO FIGHTERS, STEVIE NICKS, EDDIE VEDDER, LENNY KRAVITZ, JACKSON BROWNE and many more.

As HEART’s NANCY WILSON is prepping for a solo album release in 2021, her sister, ANN WILSON, has unveiled a cover of “The Revolution Starts Now” by STEVE EARLE.

SPENCER DAVIS of the SPENCER DAVIS GROUP died of pneumonia.  He was 81.  And TONY LEWIS from the ’80s band THE OUTFIELD died Monday.  He was 62.

MILEY CYRUS is reportedly working on an album of METALLICA covers. She’s no stranger to covering classic rock songs, and, in fact, she took on “Nothing Else Matters” at the Glastonbury Festival in 2019.
