An elephant in Thailand collapsed after her calf fell into a drain hole and the mother refused to leave its side, partially sliding into the hole. Rescuers used a crane to lift her up, but she fainted and staff members performed CPR by jumping up and down on her body in an attempt to resuscitate her. The baby was dug out, and rushed to its mother’s side. Rescue efforts paid off, as the mother elephant stood up to cuddle her baby, then the two returned to the wild.
