Today’s Good News 5-25-23

Great news for humanity!  Researchers at NASA and the University of Colorado say that of all the dangerous asteroids we know of, none of them will hit Earth for at least the next 1,000 years………Some NYPD cops recently saved an emotionally disturbed guy who was about to jump off a Staten Island Ferry. The boat was in the middle of New York Harbor when he climbed out a window onto the side of it. Two cops on the boat saw it happen and started trying to talk him down.  They called for backup, and police boats showed up in case he jumped in, but one officer grabbed him before he could though, and they got him some help……………And finally……………………

A former soldier from Nepal lost both legs to an I.E.D. in Afghanistan 13 years ago . . . but just made history by scaling Mount Everest.  He used special prosthetics with spikes to help him climb. He says he went into a deep depression after the injury and started drinking a lot.  But then he decided to keep living . . . went skydiving . . . got involved in Paralympic sports . . . and started climbing mountains. He’s the first person to climb Everest after losing both legs above the knee.  His motto is nothing’s impossible, you just have to adapt.
