The Salvation Army announced its first gold coin of the season.  An anonymous donor at a grocery store near Chicago dropped a South African half-Krugerrand in a red kettle.  It’s worth about $1,200……… A single mom in Virginia with six kids just got a free car and has a bunch of high school students to thank for it.  They spent all year fixing it up in their automotive tech class at school.  A local business worked with a charity called Giving Words, and donated over $10,000 to make it happen……And finally…………..  

A 17-year-old girl in Iowa named Lauren Schroeder started a huge garden on her parents’ farm last year, just so she could donate everything she grew.  It started as a half-acre, and she doubled it to a full acre this year. She’s donated over 7,000 pounds of produce in the last two years.  She’s hoping to hit 20,000 pounds before she heads off to college in 2025.
