Lizzi Larbalestier is a volunteer for British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR), and she spent nine months caring for injured seals after she turned her Airbnb into a makeshift animal hospital. In some cases, the seals were in need of medical treatment after being injured by boats or fishing equipment, or they were orphaned pups. But Lizzi, her husband and other volunteers weren’t satisfied that they were doing all they could, so they built a new seal hospital from the ground up…….. In whale news:  Scientists at the SETI Institute had a full conversation with a humpback whale using recordings played on underwater speakers.  They think it’s the first time anyone’s truly done it.  “SETI” stands for “search for extraterrestrial intelligence.”  They did it as practice in case we ever need to talk to aliens…..And finally…….. 

A homeless shelter in Portland, Oregon is auctioning off a pair of very expensive Air Jordans someone left in their donation bin, apparently on purpose.  It’s a gold pair of Air Jordan 3 sneakers, based on shoes Spike Lee commissioned to wear to the 2019 Oscars. The designer confirmed they’re the real deal and gave them a new custom box.  They’re valued at over $10,000, but could sell for up to 20 GRAND.   The auction ends today.
