Two years ago, Terry Kahn, an extremely frugal guy IN man passed away with $13 million in the bank  and he left it all to charity, but didn’t say which one.  His will just said give it to charity, so his lawyer started cold-calling charities and asking them, “What would YOU do with $1 million?”  Around a dozen different nonprofits will now split the money, including groups that help teachers, veterans, and victims of domestic violence…………….. Oahu guitar teacher Harry Koizumi recently had an unexpected visit from Eddie Vedder. The Pearl Jam frontman asked Koizumi to help choose guitars for three of his young students who could benefit from the instruments and be inspired by them. At their next lesson, the students were gifted with the brand new guitars, courtesy of Vedder, who later returned with personal notes for each student……..And finally…………….. 

According to a new study, taking care of a pet helps hold off cognitive decline for people over 50 who live alone. Researchers found that pet ownership was associated with slower rates of decline in verbal memory and verbal fluency among the older adults who were living on their own. They’re now calling for clinical trials that could help address dementia among the elderly.
