AZ teen Stephen “Budda” Dick was diagnosed with a brain tumor in August 2023, after suffering a seizure during football practice. While he was battling the tumor, his team rallied around him, even visiting him at a Phoenix hospital. Stephen was given the opportunity to apply for a wish through the “Make a Wish” Foundation, and recently, his wish was granted. Stephen chose to use his wish for his football team, asking for and receiving 55 custom Riddell helmets for his teammates to provide extra protection and safety for them. Former AZ Cardinal Larry Fitzgerald, whose foundation helped sponsor the wish, even sent a personal message praising Stephen’s selflessness and strength.
