Rescuers in northern Canada found a six-year-old girl with autism who’d been missing for three days. There’s a video of her mom overcome with emotion as she carries her out of the woods. A ton of volunteers pitched in to help find her, and you can hear a bunch of them cheering in the background…………… A team of 10 veterinarians in England pulled off a five-hour operation last week to fix a young rhino’s broken leg. It’s the first surgery of its kind, so they had to bring in horse surgeons. They didn’t know if it would work, or if the cast would hold, but everything’s looking great…………………And finally………………….
Last month, 79 year old Ursula Bannister was on her annual Mount Rainier hike, and was just starting her descent when she stepped in a hole and broke her ankle. She yelled for help, and off duty Airman 1st Class Troy May and his friends heard her. They called 911, and May said “When they informed me it was going to be at least 4-5 hours before they were even going to get to the spot not including the hike up, I was like if I could carry her out.. it’d be a lot quicker for her and get her out of a little bit of pain.” May gave her a piggyback ride for nearly two miles down the mountain, then drove her to the hospital. May got an Air Force achievement medal on September 9 for the rescue, and Bannister said it “Really encouraged me about young people and middle aged people and older people and how good at heart the American people are.”
