NY woman Jerry Leo is still crushing it at the gym at 100 years old.  She turned 100 in April, and can hold a plank for over five minutes.  She’s been going to the gym at her local YMCA since it opened 34 years ago.  She works out with a bunch of people in their 60s and 70s who say she’s in better shape than they are……………. A guy who runs a parasailing company on the Jersey Shore rescued a woman and her dogs after their kayak tipped in a storm.  He saw it happen from a dock and sprinted to his boat to go save them.  Luckily, the woman and both dogs were wearing life jackets………………And finally……………… 

In early June, a fire started in the home of VA 12-year-old Romir Parker. He was upstairs and his siblings, aged 1 and 2, were asleep on the couch downstairs, so he came down, scooped them up, and carried them outside. His grandmother was still inside, so he went back in and helped walk her out shortly before the fire department arrived, about four minutes after they got the call.  The city presented him with a proclamation that recognized Parker for “demonstrating a level of bravery and presence of mind, well beyond his years,” while the fire chief made the young man an honorary firefighter.
