Good News

A NY bowling alley is in the news for raising a ton of money for a good cause.  Rab’s Country Lanes is getting ready to host its 22nd Annual Bowling Against Breast Cancer Bowl-a-Thon next month.  It’s raised over $760,000 over the years, and it’s just one of the fundraisers they throw.  They raise an average of half-a-million dollars a year for various charities………………. A guy near Vancouver dug through 20 tons of trash at his local dump to find his wife’s wedding ring.  It slipped off her hand while she was throwing stuff away, along with her anniversary band.  She didn’t realize until the next night, and told him he’d never find them, but he refused to stop digging until he did.  She told a reporter she couldn’t stop crying when she got them back, because she knew after 26 years,  he must really still love her to dig through that much garbage………………………And finally…………..

The owner of a MN pizza place called Pizza Man saw people digging through his dumpster for food, and it broke his heart, so he decided to do something about it.  He posted on Facebook and said, “Please do not eat out of our dumpster.  Nobody deserves that.  If you are that desperate for food, please come ask.”  He also said he’d start leaving cheese pizzas outside the back door for anyone too embarrassed to ask.  He told a reporter he just couldn’t “sit in a building full of food and watch somebody starve in [his] parking lot.”  Folks have donated over $4,000 online to cover the cost of the free pizzas, and he’s donating the rest to food banks.
