Bladder cancer is very hard to treat, but a new slow-release treatment achieved remarkable success in eliminating tumors in 82% of patients with high-risk non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer that had resisted prior treatment.  It’s a small implant that releases a drug to wipe out cancer cells………….. Horses and swimming pools don’t mix.  A couple weeks ago, two Kentucky police officers had to lead a horse out of a swimming pool using a garden hose as a makeshift lasso.  (Here’s video of them talking about it.)  Meanwhile in Virginia, firefighters came to the rescue of a horse that fell into a pool.  They built a ramp in the water and wrapped the horse with a harness so it could be pulled up the ramp to dry land.  (Here are some photos.).………..And finally…………… 

Eight-year-old CO hockey fan Luke Grahame loves being on the ice and doesn’t want to just be a bench riding “rink dude”.  That name had a ring to it, so Luke and his mom started a clothing brand called Rink Dude, with proceeds going to Hockey Unlimited, a group that creates opportunities for underprivileged and low-income kids to play hockey.  For Veterans Day, they did a special promotion to benefit United Heroes League, a nonprofit that provides hockey equipment and experiences for military children. Luke says the best part isn’t selling merch, it’s knowing another kid is stepping onto the ice because of him.
