A 46-year-old veteran from Nepal just became the first above-the-knee double amputee to do the Seven Summits. That’s when you make it to the highest peak on all seven continents. He lost both legs in Afghanistan in 2010 but hasn’t let it keep him down, literally. He climbed Everest in 2023 and just finished the feat by climbing Mount Vinson in Antarctica, which is 16,050 feet, so it’s pretty cold up there………………. The Hershey Bears minor league hockey team got some bad press recently about that staged kids fight on the ice, but they also did something good. They had their annual “Teddy Bear Toss” earlier this month, and fans threw over 80,000 of them onto the ice. 60 different charities will now hand them out to kids. It’s the second highest total they’ve ever had…………And finally…………………
A lottery winner in Canada went to a grocery store just before Christmas last month and handed out over $20,000 in gift cards . . . $300 per card. Patty Warden hit the lottery in 2024 for $70 MILLION, and she’s given a bunch of it away since then. She used to be homeless, so she knows how a little help can go a long way. She told a reporter she’s just trying to do what she can to make the world a happier place.
