Here’s a reminder that good friends show up: An 82-year-old guy in Scotland named Peter Gould got diagnosed with terminal cancer in December, and his oldest friend in the world, Bob Walker, just flew 14,000 miles from Indonesia to have a beer with him. They met over 40 years ago as aircraft engineers in New Guinea. Bob booked a ticket as soon as he heard, and showed up with their favorite beer, South Pacific Lager, from back in the day.
