CT Firefighters saved a swan that wandered out onto a river and got frozen to the ice. They melted it with warm water, strapped him to an E.R. stretcher, and lifted it up a hill. He was hungry and thirsty, but otherwise okay. They’ll release him back into the wild as soon as a vet gives the all-clear……….. Google Translate helped deliver a baby in New Jersey last month. A woman went into labor in the backseat of her car, and her husband ran into a police station looking for help, but neither of them spoke English well. Atlantic Beach, NC Community Policing Officer Grace Helms was riding with Jonathan Williams to check on people during the recent winter storm, when they stopped at the home of an 87-year-old woman. Williams saw her piano and commented that it needed to be dusted off and played. The resident said her favorite song was “Tiny Dancer”, and Williams did a brilliant job playing it. The woman’s caregiver took a video, which was then posted online by the 87-year-old’s daughter. It’s been viewed more than 80K times.
