An elementary school teacher in Washington state recently had her students color winter hats as a craft . . . then she and her aunt made the hats, themselves, for each kid. The students thought it was so cool, and several of them got emotional seeing them. (There’s also a video report on the surprise.)……………….Green Bay’s Safe Haven cat shelter opened its doors to anyone, feline or not, seeking shelter from the recent frigid temps in the area, when lows dropped to –19. Elizabeth Feldhausen, the founder of Safe Haven, heard from a friend that the warming shelters for homeless residents were overcrowded, and employees were turning people away. She then announced that anyone who couldn’t get a spot in the shelters could come to Safe Haven to get out of the cold…………………And finally………………
New Jersey man Robert Schott didn’t make a snowman after a recent big winter storm, he constructed a snow-ICE CREAM TRUCK. It’s made entirely out of snow in the old “Good Humor” style, and even has four wheels, reflectors, and signage . . . but obviously it can’t move. Robert is selling ice cream bars from it for $5 apiece, with the proceeds going to a children’s hospital foundation. (There’s a fun interview with the guy, here.)
