Did you hear about the mini “Miracle on the Hudson” that happened this week? A small plane with two people on board lost power and had to land in the Hudson River just north of Manhattan Monday night. The crash landing went as well as it possibly could have, considering how cold and icy the water is right now. Both people were able to swim to shore, got checked out at a hospital, and they’re both okay………….. Philly woman Cindy Ware recently lost the diamond from her engagement ring. It was a big deal because it’s a family heirloom, but then it showed up in an unexpected place. Her neighbor found it stuck in the tread of one of his water shoes. She thinks it fell out during a water aerobics class near her home. He plays volleyball in the same pool and must have stepped on it. He found it months later, after he’d worn the shoes on vacation in Florida, so she’s lucky it didn’t fall out. She got it back on Valentine’s Day……………….And finally………..
A dog named Scrappy finally found her forever home after spending most of her life at a shelter in Tennessee. She’s a three-year-old German Shepherd mix, who arrived at the shelter as a 4-month-old pup. After 800 days at the shelter, they shared her story last week on Facebook, and three days later, she got adopted. (Here’s a photo.)
