A one-eyed beaver rescued during floods in Upstate New York has become an internet sensation . . . and a wildlife ambassador. Bo was found as a newborn, and lost his eye due to a serious illness, but was able to survive. Now Bo, with the help of his owner, helps teach the public how helpful beavers are supporting ecosystems and boosting biodiversity. (Here’s a cute video of baby Bo to brighten your day.) ………………..Two pet goats saved their owner’s life after a powerful Oklahoma tornado buried the family beneath debris. Rescuers noticed the goats standing on top of a rubble pile, which helped them pinpoint where the cellar, and the trapped family, was located. Those goats are truly the G.O.A.T. (Here’s a news report.) ……………….And finally………………
A tow truck driver in Canada put his work on hold after spotting a moose trapped in ice on a frozen lake. Clint Gottinger was on his way to two separate tow calls when he spotted a young moose frozen in the ice. Gottinger couldn’t leave him, so he told his clients he had to help the moose. He said, “After they heard I was digging a moose out of the ice they said ‘Oh okay that’s fine.’ They were very understanding.” He used his truck’s winch and a soft sling to gently pull the animal to safety, then helped it recover overnight at his home. By the next morning, the moose had regained its strength and wandered back into the wild. (Here’s a news report.)
