A young Chicago woman was diagnosed with a serious bone marrow disorder, but then she received a transplant from a young man in Poland that she never met. Now years later, she’s in remission and about to get married, but she really wanted her donor to be a guest at their wedding. So, the donor traveled across the world to attend, and after the speeches, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. (Here’s video.)……… 7-year-old RI student Sameer Santana is a hero after saving a classmate’s life who was choking during snack time. Sameer rushed over and performed the Heimlich maneuver as soon as he saw the other kid choking. And he had only learned it the year before in school. A woman with multiple sclerosis just became the first person to complete the entire 1,000-kilometer Munda Biddi Trail in a wheelchair. If you didn’t know, it’s one of the world’s longest off-road cycling routes, at 621 miles. Her name is Clare Reilly, and she navigated forests, mountains, and sand using a power-assisted wheelchair. She called the journey exhausting but rewarding . . . and she hopes her achievement raises awareness for MS research.
