There’s a new, unexpected superhero in Detroit: French priest Jean-Baptiste Commins was in his church parking lot when he heard tires squeal and a loud crash. Then, he saw an 18-year-old suspect running toward him . . . with someone shouting “stop him!” Jean-Baptiste sprang into action. He tackled the suspect, and said he, quote, “unfortunately had to give him a few punches.” The young man had stolen a car, and caused a crash, which injured a woman. Afterward, Jean-Baptiste joked, “Just another day in the D.” (Here’s video.)…………A moviegoer spotted an elderly woman named Mary struggling to get around as she was working as a cleaner at a theater . . . so she set up a GoFundMe to help her get to retirement. And it’s raised more than $146,000. She later surprised Mary with the amount, and she was grateful. Mary sounds like a good person who’s been helpful and generous to others as well. (Here’s video. She might not “retire,” because she “loves working.”)…………..And finally……………….
A super patient, animal-loving police officer in Texas collected a fawn who’d become trapped in a fence . . . and then took the fawn to its mother nearby, in the hopes that they could reunite. And it WORKED. (Careful) In the body cam video, the cop joked, “Hopefully your mom doesn’t beat my a**.” In the caption, the department later said that the doe had approached his patrol car and then ran toward the fence . . . almost like she was flagging that cop down personally.
