On the TV show “The Curse of Oak Island”, Charles Barkhouse is one of the historians, and in his off time, he’s a tour guide in Nova Scotia. Charles recently met a tourist, who happened to be a doctor. She asked him if she could examine his neck and then told him to seek medical care immediately. Tests later revealed an aggressive thyroid cancer that doctors say could have been fatal if it was left untreated. Luckily, Charles is now recovering after surgery . . . and he calls the stranger who spoke up his “guardian angel.”(Here’s a news report.)…………..An endangered California condor made history after flying into Oregon for the first time in 122 years. The bird, who’s called condor B9, traveled about 380 miles over four days before returning to its home in Northern California. The condors were near extinction, so conservationists are feeling hopeful at the progress………………….And finally…………..
An OK family took in a stray cat that later gave birth to five kittens. But a few days later, they noticed there were six – or so they thought. When they looked closer, they realized the sixth “kitten” was actually a bunny. The mother cat was caring for the bunny alongside her own litter of kittens. She was even nursing and protecting it like one of her own. The family says all the animals are healthy and growing under her care, and in a few weeks they hope to find homes for all of them and perhaps release the bunny back into the wild.
