14-year-old AZ boy Royal Cothrun was riding his bike recently when he saw 76-year-old Teresa Morgan walking along, looking confused in the 100+ degree heat. He stopped to check on her, helped her get into some shade, and helped her recall her son’s phone number. Teresa had recently been diagnosed with dementia and was miles from home after getting confused after a trip to the grocery store. Her family and first responders said Royal’s quick thinking and compassion likely saved her life. The encounter was recorded by his smart sunglasses. The Gilbert Fire Department and the Air National Guard plan to honor him for his actions.
