Betty Bromage, a 97-year-old woman in England, broke her own Guinness World Record as the world’s oldest female wing walker. This is the sixth time in 10 years that she’s been wing walking. Her latest flight came just a year after she suffered a stroke that affects her speech, and she used the wing walk to raise money for the stroke unit at her local hospital. (Here’s a news report.) …………………Postal worker Mary Schwarz helped save an 8-month-old baby after she suddenly stopped breathing inside an Arizona post office. Mary was a nurse for 13 years before joining the Postal Service, so she immediately began CPR after seeing the baby had no pulse. A police officer then rushed the baby to a local clinic, while Mary continued CPR during the drive. The baby eventually underwent surgery to repair a hole in her heart, but she’s now recovering……………..And finally…………
A former Cape Cod Wendy’s manager is headed to Yale University on a full scholarship after the restaurant owners helped fund his education. Thalles DeSouza was working as a shift manager in high school when his bosses promised to help him attend college if he stayed with the company – they paid for three years of community college tuition. Thalles went on to earn top grades, serve as student body president, and successfully transfer into Yale, which only accepts a very small percentage of transfer applicants.
