A dog named Carl recently fell about 120 feet off a Tennessee cliff and was stuck on a tiny ledge for 17 hours before being rescued. Members of several local fire departments and a Special Operations Response Team were deployed on the cliff using “high angle rope rescue systems.” A team rappelled down, calmed Carl and got him into a duffel bag, then went back up the cliff. Carl sustained only minor injuries and is back to normal after the emotional rescue and reunion with his owner.
