Retro is our featured dog this week. He’s a friendly, outgoing dog who is always ready to be included in the fun. At around 5 years old and 45lbs, he enjoys car rides, toys, treats, and spending time with people. Whether he is heading out for an adventure or relaxing nearby, Retro is happiest when he can be part of what is going on. He walks beautifully on a leash, knows how to sit, and takes treats gently. Retro has done well meeting other dogs, although he can sometimes become overly excited and a little too enthusiastic during introductions, so a calm, supervised introduction would be best when meeting a potential canine companion. Dogs are likely fine, but Retro is not a fan of cats and will need a cat-free home. Retro is neutered and heartworm negative, and he’s been waiting for a home since February, making him the shelter’s longest-waiting dog.
Retro loves his stegosaurus. He loves his turtle toy. He loves hidden cookies, car rides, and going to Mellow Mushroom, where he discovered that meatball heroes are absolutely worth remembering, but more than anything, Retro loves being included. He wants to be where the people are. He wants to ride along, hang out, check in, make you laugh, and then settle in like he has been there all along. He has been someone’s dog before. You can tell.
