Texas high school football team senior Mason Wisnoski recently experienced a moment he’ll never forget. Mason has Down syndrome, and before a recent game started, they handed him the ball and let him score a touchdown. Mason sprinted 30 yards into the end zone and everyone went crazy. Members of the offensive line lifted him onto their shoulders and carried him off the field as the crowd cheered. (Here’s a news report.)……………..24-year-old Canadian Matthew Clark just pulled off a daring mountain rescue after helping an injured hang-glider who crashed into a tree. The man in danger was left hanging about 200 feet below the summit, but Matthew was able to scramble up a steep slope to reach him. He used a knife to cut the man free from his harness, helped him treat a serious knee wound, and stayed with him for about three hours until a helicopter rescue team arrived………….And finally………………
Jon Avery, a hospital valet in Buffalo, NY, has become a big source of encouragement for cancer patients at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. Jon Avery always greets patients with a smile and supportive words. He makes such a good impression on people that one breast cancer survivor, Kate Fink, credits him with helping her through her treatment. After learning that Jon had been saving up to attend a Buffalo Bills game, Kate and her coworkers organized a surprise for him. They got him game tickets, field passes, and a signed Josh Allen jersey. (Here’s a news report.)
