So it’s winter. Wear a coat, suck it up, and go catch some fish. Many species of fish bite year around. Off shore in the Gulf Stream It’s always dinner time for the Red snapper, Silver snapper, grouper, trigger fish and black Sea Bass. Not to mention the tuna, wahoo, and sharks.
Inshore the trout are still hitting on grubs, mirror lures and live shrimp. The drum are hitting on cut bait, mullet, and spinner baits.
Fresh water fishermen rejoice because the bass are still active year around. Best baits in the cold include giant swim baits, swimming jigs, Bandito Bugs Carolina Rigged and minnows. Crappie are killing it on hair jigs, minnows and beetle spins. You can always catch bream on worms, crickets, and small plastics.
Take a kid fishing, pick up your trash and wear a coat, you’ll be fine!
