Can you be a hero for Hero? This guy is about two years old, a gray and white pit mix, who came in as a stray and has been the sweetest boy from the very start. Everyone he meets is a friend to him, even other dogs. When Hero really likes you, he throws his paw up to shake your hand. Every morning he walks with the kennel staff and goes and picks out his own blanket, then carries it back to his kennel. Unfortunately, Hero is heartworm positive. He shows no signs of heartworms, but would definitely need to be treated. A lot of times this scares people, but he can be treated and saved. Hero is loved by all the shelter staff, and would make a great addition to any family.
