A former social studies teacher in Tennessee is now a world record holder. Glenda Akin worked at the same school for 61 years and 43 days . . . Westmoreland High School, about an hour north of Nashville. She started in 1963 and retired in 2024, but they just announced the record………… A couple near St. Louis met at a water aerobics class a couple years ago, and recently got married in the same YMCA pool they met in. All their wedding guests were in the pool too. 82-year-old Edward LaRue and 78-year-old Marlene Parsons went on their first date in late-2023, and he proposed eight months later . . . but it took her another year to say yes. Their water aerobics teacher was already ordained, so she did the ceremony…………..And finally…………..
Hospital workers in Iowa went above and beyond to find a woman’s set of lost rings. Susan Sinnwell had her grandparents’ wedding rings on, and removed them for an X-ray. Then she didn’t realize they were missing until the next day. She’d wrapped them in a napkin, and they ended up in a trash compactor. Maintenance workers used metal detectors to separate out any trash with metal in it, then the staff used a portable X-ray machine to find the rings. Susan was still pretty emotional when she talked to a reporter about it. She said she couldn’t believe how many people pitched in to help.
