The students found a man with a broken leg and used a makeshift stretcher to get him out. Here’s the cool part: They had just practiced building the stretcher for another exercise, so they were very prepared for the moment. They then worked in rotating teams and carried him for hours until the paramedics could reach him……………And finally……….
An older couple in Detroit has spent decades raising foster kids. Stephen and Loretta Rodriguez estimate they’ve helped raise 60 to 70 foster children over the years, but unfortunately, they were facing eviction until a former foster child of theirs helped bring attention to their situation. That’s when a local nonprofit stepped in and provided them with a fully furnished home where they can live rent-free for two years.
