Marge, a 32-year-old horse in Washington state got trapped between two trees, and couldn’t free herself. So the local fire and rescue team responded, and used a “high-point mechanical advantage system” to carefully lift and free Marge from the tight space. She only suffered a few minor scrapes………. Researchers at University College in London found that people who regularly engage in arts and cultural activities may actually age more slowly. The study looked at more than 3,500 adults and compared their hobbies with changes in their DNA tied to aging. People who did arts activities at least once a week appeared to age 4% more slowly than people who rarely participated. Activities included things like reading, going to museums and listening to music. One professor said the arts should be viewed as “a health-promoting behavior in a similar way to exercise.” ………………..And finally……………
CA students took it upon themselves to help save a wildlife area, where they enjoyed watching livestreams of a bald eagle habitat that houses the viral birds, Jackie and Shadow. The area has been threatened by a potential housing development, so they wrote letters to family, influencers, and celebrities, trying to raise the $10 million needed to prevent the area from being bulldozed. The students have also been raising money on their own, by doing bake sales . . . lemonade stands . . . and even making bald eagle origamis. And now the campaign to save the area has raised around $3 million, which is 30% of the $10 million goal.
