A Canadian woman was woken up in the middle of the night by a 12-year-old neighbor who needed help with his unresponsive dad. So, the woman jumped into action and performed CPR for about 10 minutes on the man. She followed instructions from 911 and kept the man alive until paramedics arrived. The 12-year-old son went door to door at 3 a.m. searching for help and definitely rang the right doorbell. Luckily, his dad is now recovering from the heart attack. A 4-6 week old baby coyote in Arizona was found covered in hundreds of cholla cactus spines from head to tail but is now recovering thanks to some wonderful people. The Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center in Scottsdale got the call, and it took their crew more than two hours to carefully remove the spines, but it most likely saved the pup’s life. The vet tech said he had spines just about everywhere, not just the face and paws, but in the nose, mouth, tongue, tail, and back. The coyote is eating well, gaining strength, and beginning to socialize with other orphaned pups at the center. After a couple months of rehab, he’ll be released back into the wild.
