A Chicago woman posted a funny video last month inviting anyone to join a picnic for her birthday. The invite quickly went viral and more than 100 strangers showed up to celebrate with her. She said people even came from other states, and it was super welcoming. It felt like strangers were hanging out like old friends. (Here’s the initial video. And the follow-up.)…………… A NJ woman survived a house fire thanks to her poodle, who refused to stop barking in the middle of the night. His persistence woke her up just in time for her to realize the house was filling with smoke. Unfortunately, the home was destroyed, but both she and her dog made it out safely. She now credits her dog as the hero who saved her life. (Here’s a news report.)
………………And finally……………..
22-year-old TN engineering student Connor Gibson is helping thousands of people regain their smiles by creating 3D-printed dentures for free. He taught himself how to do it while volunteering with a nonprofit clinic. Despite knowing very little about dentistry or 3D printing, he was soon outfitting thousands of patients with free dentures. Gibson has spent nearly every weekend in the “mobile digital denture lab,” where he uses the nonprofit’s two 3D printers to make as many as 35 pairs of dentures each week. “To see that raw, human emotion and just know that I played a change in this person’s life … it’s very humbling, and I’m beyond blessed,” Gibson said.
