The U.S. murder rate is on pace to reach its lowest level since the FBI started keeping track in 1960. Preliminary figures show murders fell nearly 19% during the first four months of the year compared with the same period in 2025., and it continues a steady decline that’s been seen in recent years………….Texas man Leon Segura just saved two young girls’ lives by smashing through a glass door and running into a burning home. He was driving by when he saw the fire and heard screams. so he punched through the back glass door with his bare hands . . . and carried the girls to safety, just moments before the flames got out of control. (Here’s a news report.)………….And finally…………….
SPCA Monterey County in California recently shared a video of a bald eagle taking flight after six months of rehab. The eagle came to the facility with severe injuries, including signs of electrocution. The wildlife rescue team wrapped the bird’s wing to heal a fracture, gave it medication, cold laser treatment, and physical therapy. A licensed falconer provided strength training, and towards the end of its recovery, the bird was taken to a 100-foot flight aviary where he showed his strength and agility. The group said watching him circle above the landscape before continuing on his journey was a moment they won’t soon forget. The wildlife center rescues more than 2,500 injured and orphaned animals annually.
