A dog in Kansas is safe now after being rescued from a 15-foot-deep well, where he apparently fell while running away from Fourth of July fireworks. Animal control officers, police, and firefighters worked together to pull him from the well after someone heard him crying for help. The dog was cleaned up, fed brisket, and is doing much better now. And they decided to name him Brisket……………….. A couple from Virginia helped save six people after a boat began sinking on the York River on the Fourth of July. They pulled four adults and two children from the water and brought them to safety before emergency responders arrived. Luckily, the brave couple prevented what could have become a tragedy. An 11-year-old KY boy jumped into action after spotting an unconscious man at the bottom of an apartment pool. Avory Woolery saw the man, and realized nobody was stepping in to help, so he dove underwater and managed to pull the man to the surface. Someone started CPR and 911 was called. The man was taken to the hospital in serious condition, but Avory gave him a chance at survival. His dad said he was proud of his son’s courage and willingness to help. (Here’s a news report.)
