Nearly two dozen red wolf pups were born in the wild this spring in eastern NC . . . which is very encouraging news for one of the world’s rarest animals. It’s the biggest baby boom for the species in more than a decade. There have been years when no pups were born at all, so this is a big deal. The red wolves still remain critically endangered, but conservationists say the new pups are a hopeful sign that the population can continue to grow…………. A woman posted a video of an older airport worker, asking if anyone could help him retire because he was badly limping. The man, James Blair, is a 64-year-old veteran dealing with some serious knee problems. He said he had to keep working as long as he could because he was taking care of his mother in hospice. A GoFundMe campaign was soon setup to help him, and it has raised $184,000. (Here’s a news report.)………..And finally………………
A SC restaurant owner found $12,000 in cash hidden inside an old cabinet left behind by the previous owner . . . and immediately wanted to return it, but he couldn’t get in contact with the former owner. Eventually, he shared the story with a local TV station, and he was able to reach the former owner live on air. The rightful owner was dealing with serious health issues . . . which made the money even more important. Sak Yiengjuntuek, the restaurant owner, said “Do the right thing. Don’t give up honesty.”
