A sea turtle named Rhossi was found injured on a beach in Wales after being swept across the Atlantic from where it lives in the Gulf. And now, after a few years rehabilitating, a team of wildlife agencies in both the U.S. and Wales helped coordinate his journey back home. He’s now safely at the Houston Zoo undergoing tests and treatment. The plan is to return him to the Gulf once he’s healthy enough to be released……………..Firefighters and an animal control officer in San Francisco recently came to the rescue of a wild parrot that got its head stuck between panes of glass on a third-floor balcony. They also checked it out. It was tired from all the struggling, but it wasn’t hurt. So they released it. (Here’s video of the rescue.)…………..And finally………….
A father and son in Glendale, AZ have a nonprofit called The Junkie Garage where they help people repair their vehicles for whatever they can afford. Customers bring the parts needed for the job and donate what they can for labor. The owner, Michael, has worked alongside his 16-year-old son, Matthew, for eight years. Michael said that most air conditioning repairs end up costing less than $300, compared to the thousands you’d spend at a traditional shop. (Here’s a news report.)
