Fishing Report 10-15-21

October and November are the best months of the year to fishing. There have been great catches of spots, croakers, Spanish mackerel, kings, mahi, wahoo, flounder and puppy drum along with trout, blues, and mullet.

Also off shore snappers, groupers and trigger fish are asking to be caught.

Fresh water fishing is excellent, Bass on Whopper Ploppers, Choppos and buzz baits are beyond excellent. Also the catfish are good on cut baits and minnows.  The bream are always hitting on crickets, and nightcrawlers. Take a kid fishing, and pick up your trash.

Just because it’s hot doesn’t mean the fish aren’t biting, they are!  The offshore bite is good on mahi, wahoo, kings and tuna using trolling baits.  Inshore the trout are going crazy on live shrimp.  Plus Red Drum fishing is great on cut bait and even a few tarpon are being reeled in on mullet.

Fresh water fishing.  With recent rains the water is still stirred up but the bass are always hungry.  Best lures right now are plastic worms Carolina rigged unless you love catching weeds on every cast.  Also the bream are hitting live bait and mepps spinners.  Catfish fishing is good on chicken livers and Gulp catfish bites.

Go fishing today! Work is way over-rated, and please pick up your trash and used fishing line.

The best fishing of the year is now. Take a day off work. Call in sick and go fishing.

From WSF-AL: “Captain Greg from Four Seasons Guide Service took me, my wife, and 2 adult kids to the Pamlico Sound and we slayed everything that swam. Speckled trout, bluefish, croakers, sheepshead, hog fish, drum, black drum, and I hauled in a pinfish that finned me.”

Also off shore the mahi, kings, spanish, wahoo, and albacore are being caught in huge numbers. On the fresh water the heat has slowed things down a little except early morning and late at night. The bass are excellent on Whopper Ploppers, and Bubble gum trickworms. Blue gill are hitting worms, crickets and beetle spins.

Don’t go wishing, go fishing! Pick up your trash please.
