RINGO STARR, SANTANA, EDGAR WINTER, ARLO GUTHRIE and the DOOBIE BROTHERS have been announced for the Woodstock 50th anniversary show that’s happening in August at the site of the original festival. There’s another 50th anniversary show happening the same weekend at another site, but no acts have been announced yet.  

The guys in MOTLEY CRUE are blasting KISS for using cranes on their farewell tour, the same way the Crue used them on theirs.  NIKKI SIXX says, quote, “This disappoints me.”  In the meanwhile, the CRUE are prepping for the release of “The Dirt” on Netflix on March 22. Here’s the NSFW trailer.

QUEEN will perform at the Oscars with ADAM LAMBERT on vocals. 

ANGUS YOUNG of AC/DC recently donated about $15K to the Alzheimer Society of Ontario. Young heard about a Canadian fan who is working his way across the country, skating  in every NHL city to raise funds and awareness for Alzheimer’s organizations. He’s doing it in tribute to his mother, and to the memory of MALCOLM YOUNG, Angus‘s brother, who passed away at 64 after battling dementia.

Coming to a theater near you on August 14, “Blinded by the Light”, a 1980’s set flick that centers around a British Muslim who becomes a fan of BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN. 

On April 5, previously unreleased demos by THE SQUARES, JOE SATRIANI’s first band, will be released.
