SOUNDGARDEN was working on some new material when CHRIS CORNELL died.  But the project is stalled, because the band can’t get a hold of Cornell’s demos.  Guitarist KIM THAYIL seems to suggest there’s some hesitation within Cornell’s estate. 

MICK JAGGER put money into a pension account when he was in his 20s, because it would be “ridiculous” to think he could still be a rock star when he was 60.  He’s 76  

JOURNEY is extending their Vegas run. They had nine dates announced for October and now have added December 27, 28, 30 and 31. Sounds like plan for New Years Eve!

A woman in British Columbia was being stalked by a mountain lion while she was out walking her dog last week. But she managed to scare it off by grabbing her phone, and blasting METALLICA’S “Don’t Tread on Me”.  The band is currently prepping for their upcoming “S&M2” anniversary concerts in San Francisco, which sold out in minutes, but they’ve announced that this event will be coming to 3000 theaters worldwide.  Click here to get info on tickets.

It’s over.  Woodstock 50 has officially been CANCELED. Co-founder Michael Lang said that it was a sad day . . . but that all the artists and agents had been paid, and he encouraged them to donate 10% to charity. The festival was supposed to happen in just TWO WEEKS, and there were still significant issues with the venue, the slate of performers, V.I.P. ticketing, and the ‘free’ general admission. 

PAUL MCCARTNEY says he’s forgetting how to play some BEATLES songs, because there are so many. 

MÖTLEY CRÜE’s NIKKI SIXX is a dad again at 60. Nikki announced that his wife Courtney gave birth to baby girl Ruby on July 27.
