ALEX LIFESON has a new band called ENVY OF NONE, and they sound NOTHING like RUSH. The new band, also featuring Coney Hatch founder/bassist Andy Curran, producer and engineer Alfio Annibalini and singer-songwriter Maiah Wynne will be releasing their self-titled debut album on April 8. Lifeson himself is proudly aware of how little of it crosses over with the band that made him famous. 

RONNIE SPECTOR lost her battle with cancer Wednesday.  She was 78.  She’s best known for the ’60s hit “Be My Baby”, with her girl group the RONETTES.  She also appeared on EDDIE MONEY’s 1986 track “Take Me Home Tonight”. 

LED ZEPPELIN’s JOHN PAUL JONES, along with his band SNOWEYE, is reported to be working on the soundtrack to the film And Anne.

JUDAS PRIEST will be back on the road for their 50 Heavy Metal Years tour in March, but they’ll be performing without touring guitarist ANDY SNEAP. The band decided to continue their trek as a quartet.

STEVIE NICKS will become the first female to headline the Bonnaroo Festival this June. The other headliners are J. COLE and TOOL, and tickets go on sale on Thursday The festival takes place in Tennessee from June 16th through the 19th.  Tickets and info at Bonnaroo.com. 

The ROLLING STONES are gonna be lickable. The British Royal Mail is releasing a line of postage stamps to celebrate the band’s 60th anniversary.
