In going green news: A team at the University of Texas created an enzyme that can break down plastic in hours instead of the centuries it takes in landfills.  They posted a video of it dissolving an entire plastic tray in about two days……..The U.S. Army just replaced a birthday cake that soldiers stole from a 13-year-old Italian girl during World War Two. The night before her birthday, all those years ago, Meri Mion hid with her mother in the attic at their farm as fighting went on nearby. The next morning, her mother made the cake, but hungry American soldiers made off with it. Ms. Mion turned 90 last Friday, so the Army showed up with a new cake for her. Video on the US Army website shows her wiping away tears as the cake was handed over, while “happy birthday” was sung in Italian and English……….And finally……………
