A Florida police officer who doesn’t know how to swim jumped into a retention pond in Jacksonville to save a drowning baby.  It happened in June, but her bodycam footage was just released. She pulled him out and did CPR until another cop took over.  The video stops at that point, but the kid eventually started breathing again. (Here’s the full video. We’re one step closer to understanding autism.  A study at Yale pinpointed the part of the brain that makes people with autism not want to make eye contact.  Brain scans showed less activity in the dorsal parietal cortex…………… And finally………………… 

A 105-year-old woman in Cherryville, NC (near Gastonia) named Lorene Summey just had her first birthday party this month.  She’d never had one until now, so her senior living center went big with line dancers, a pony, and a visit from the mayor. She was also hoping to get 105 birthday cards, and ended up with more than 1,200 of them.  And this detail’s fun too:  She’s currently dating a guy named Joseph . . . who’s only 66 years old.  (Here’s a photo of her.)
