A study found plastic bag bans at grocery stores really can make a difference.  Areas with bans or fees for bags see up to a 47% drop in the number of bags washing up on shorelines……………. A four-year-old girl in Tennessee named Kyndal Bradley saved her teacher’s life this month.  She was at daycare when the woman had a seizure and stopped breathing, but Kyndal immediately ran and got help. Her mom heard about it later that day when she picked her up, and someone said, “She’s our hero.”……….And finally……….. 

Earlier this month, workers at the Pittsburgh Airport helped track down a diamond that fell out of a woman’s engagement ring on Friday the 13th.  It happened when her hand got pinched between her suitcase and the baggage carousel.  She didn’t realize it until 30 minutes later, and she went back but couldn’t find it.  They helped her look for 90 minutes with no luck, and she left.  But then they spent another four hours searching on their own and finally pulled it out of the machine. The fact that it happened on Friday the 13th was fitting.  She and her husband have been married 34 years . . . got engaged on Friday the 13th . . . and also married on Friday the 13th.
