Wow it’s hot outside!. Only the bream are spawning still since they do it about 6 times a year. In the freshwater fishing world, everything is biting. The crappie are shallow in the morning and the evening, and deep the rest of the day. To keep cool they are hiding under docks, weed beds and trash piles and are gorging on minnows, jigs, and Bobby Garlands. The Bream which include bluegill, pumpkin seeds, red ears, shell crackers, stump knockers, green sunfish and red breasts are hitting on crickets and night crawlers. They are still making babies, but they are always hungry. The bass are eating everything in your tackle box – crank baits, spinner baits, glide baits, top water lures, swim baits, jigs, and live bait. The Catfish are hitting at night on cut bait, live bait and chicken livers.
Salt water inshore fishing is really good on trout, sea mullet, croakers, flounder, red drum cobia, and pin fish…..lol. Off shore the Spanish, kings, wahoo, tuna, mahi, and albacore fishing is really good trolling. The occasional cobia is still being caught ( best tasting fish that swims). The bottom fishing is good too. The Carolina Princess reports catches of bee liners, trigger fish, black sea bass, grouper, and grunts.
Take a kid fishing and please pick up your trash, especially your used fishing line.
