A Montreal woman is in the news because she’s been walking around picking up trash to raise money for her local SPCA shelter.  She calls herself “The Trashy Lady.”  At last count, she’d picked up around 4,000 pieces of trash this month and raised almost $4,000 on GoFundMe………….A study found that as we age, musicians have an easier time following conversations in crowded restaurants.  They think something about music training protects you from age-related brain decline……..And finally……………. 

Ava Haddad and Anna Gleig were paddling down Alberta’s Kananaskis River when they came across a herd of horses in the water. They saw a foal in distress, struggling in the fast-moving current, so they grabbed him and paddled to shore. They hoped the herd would return, but it didn’t, so they decided to take the small foal with them. They strapped him into a lifejacket and put him in the kayak, and he was so tired that he took a nap as they floated down the river. At the boat launch, they called for help and a local First Nations group sent a truck to pick up the foal and reunite him with his herd.
