Tonight’s Powerball is up to $1.3 billion, but I’d be fine with this much:  A guy in Maryland forgot he’d already bought a Powerball ticket for the August 20th drawing last month, so he bought another one with the same numbers and won a million bucks.  Each ticket hit for $500,000………………………..Denver is known as the Mile High City, and now a group called Longer Tables, a nonprofit that believes in the power of shared meals to connect people, welcomed over 3,400 locals to dine together at the first-ever “Mile Long Table”.  The 5,280-foot long table in downtown Denver, served up great food, including produce from local farmers. The group said their goal is “is creating meaningful connections—and the table makes it all possible.”……………..And finally…………… 

PA cop Steven Harris is in the news after he used his own money to help out a stranger.  A hearing-impaired man who didn’t speak English was stuck at a Greyhound station trying to get to Montreal, and he didn’t have enough money to get there.  Steven took out his bank card and paid $113 to buy him a ticket.  He told a reporter he did it because, quote, “We’re supposed to be good men.  Good men helping other good men.  That’s it.”
