Good News

Four organ donor recipients got together in Minnesota to pay tribute to the woman who saved their lives.  20-year-old Adelyn Miller died after a car crash in 2023 and was an organ donor.  One of the people she saved wasn’t there for it, but her organs actually saved five lives……………..How’s this for a good day at work?  A person in Illinois heard from a coworker that a winning lottery ticket was sold at a gas station in their town.  They’d bought a ticket, but hadn’t checked the numbers yet.  Turned out they’d won a million bucks………..And finally…………..Another great lottery story…….

VA woman Carrie Edwards hit the Powerball for $150K last week and donated all of it to charity.  She matched four of five numbers, and the Powerball.  She wrote three checks for 50 grand to three different groups:  a nonprofit farm and food justice organization working for “an equitable food system in Richmond”; the Navy-Marine Relief Society, which provides financial, educational and emergency assistance for active-duty service members, vets and their families; and the third charity helps families of people with early-onset dementia.  Her late husband suffered from it. By donating her entire prize, Edwards hopes others will be inspired to see unexpected blessings as opportunities to give back.
