A 17-year-old just became the first woman to reach Eagle Scout status in her area in New Mexico.  Her name is Gabrielle Montoya . . . and her advice for other girls who hope to follow in her footsteps and earn Eagle Scout status is:  “Just take the leap.”…………In July, MO teen Cody Trenkle crashed his skateboard and fell 240 feet into a ravine. Rescuers searched unsuccessfully for nearly 80 hours, but it was six-year-old bloodhound K-9 Daryl, from the Farmington Correctional Center, who found him. Daryl was given a pair of Cody’s shoes to track, and within 20 minutes, he had found Cody – badly injured, but alive. He was airlifted out, spent 11 days in a medically-induced coma and a full month recovering. Two weeks after being released from the hospital, Cody not only returned to school but also got to meet his rescuer face-to-furry-face to say thank you.  Daryl and the K-9 team were honored with medals for their lifesaving work……………..And finally…………….

MN siblings Susan and Jeffrey Bergeman just graduated from high school this year.  Jeffrey’s confined to a wheelchair, and Susan didn’t want him to miss out on stuff, so she ran cross-country in high school for four years and brought him along for all of her races.  She pushed him in his chair so he could be part of it and also pushed him across the stage at their graduation this spring.  She’s now running cross-country at college, and says she runs every race FOR him instead of with him now.  She’s studying to be a physician’s assistant.
